Park 20|20 Pavilions

Park 20|20 Pavilions

Accessible as of Spring 2012, Park 20|20 visitors can enjoy two public pavilions and several adjoining greenhouses. The Biological Pavilion and the Technical Pavilion respectively embody the two Cradle to Cradle perspectives of closed-loop biological and technical lifecycles and aim to show the current state of advancement in Cradle to Cradle inspired design, intelligent material selection, realization of core principles and operational possibilities. Temporary greenhouses connect the two buildings and provide organic food for the Biological Pavilion. A significant portion of this project is made possible through contributions from participating product, service and institutional sponsors.

Biological Business Meets Creativity:
The Biological Pavilion provides a mixed-use space to the greater Beukenhorst area for restaurant dining, intimate creative meetings and social gatherings. Constructed from carefully considered natural materials and incorporating many Cradle to Cradle inspired design principles such as proper building orientation in order to provide ample daylight needed to stimulate inviting meeting areas. In addition, visitors can experience first hand how waste generates cost reduction, and energy production through black water purification. Organic produce grown within the adjacent greenhouses provides the freshest food for the Biological Pavilions unique restaurant.

Technical Advancements Are Here:
In order for Park 20|20 and its stakeholders to directly engage local, national and international communities close to 50% of the Technical Pavilion is dedicated as an education area. The Park 20|20 Experience Centre is where a knowledge center and a meeting place come together in order to stimulate ideas and strengthen networks, as well as where many of our contributing members will showcase the latest in Cradle to Cradle and sustainable innovations, applications and consultations. Furthermore, In addition to the physical construction incorporating of many of the latest Cradle to Cradle certified materials and a roof composed of photovoltaic panels, visitors are also able to see our Park 20|20 Development Office and whiteness first hand how the office of today works to develop the office-park of tomorrow.
