Official start of construction of 2 pavilions at Park 20|20.

At PROVADA Alderman of Economic Affairs, Arthur van Dijk and Coert Zachariasse, CEO Delta Development Group and one of the directors of Park 20|20 cv officially launched the construction of two pavilions at Park 20|20 in Beukenhorst-Zuid in Hoofddorp. The signing of the land lease contract was the official signal for the start. The biological and technical pavilions which total approximately 650m2 floor surface area, will have a public function and play a central role for all business parks in the immediate area. Building is expected to start towards the end of July 2011.
The biological and technical pavilion depict two closed life cycles that form the basis of the ‘Cradle to Cradle’ philosophy which is the rationale behind Park 20|20. The biological pavilion will serve as a restaurant and meeting place for those in the area. The technical pavilion is an ‘experience centre’ whereby knowledge and information centred on the ‘Cradle to Cradle’ philosophy and sustainability will be shared. This pavilion will also serve as an office and have a networking function. The sustainable ambition of Park 20|20 is evident here in its aim for a BREEAM Outstanding qualification for the technical pavilion.
“The buildings will be complete ‘eye catchers,’ not only in terms of their architecture, but in their method of construction and their employment of ‘Cradle to Cradle’ materials. The building of the pavilions has been made possible by the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer and various service and institutional sponsors who will also make use of the premises”, stated Coert Zachariasse. The pavilions will be linked by demountable greenhouses which will be used for various functions.
