Opening Pavilions Park 20|20

Hoofddorp 31st May, 2012- Thursday 31st May saw the official opening of the Biological Pavilion, the Technical Pavilions and the greenhouses at Park 20|20. Park 20|20 is the first fully inspired Cradle to Cradle business park in Holland. The Technical pavilion is the new location for the 20|20 Experience Center, an information center dedicated to the Cradle to Cradle philosophy, and where Delta Development Group’s new office is also located. The Biological pavilion houses Parkcafé GROEN, the restaurant  for the Beukenhorst area.  The official launch of the greenhouses at Park 20|20 also took place on this day. Hoeve de Vogel, operators of the greenhouses, will cultivate fruit and vegetables for use at Park 20}20. Prior to the opening the afternoon  kicked off with a seminar on sustainable development and during this a presentation of the first KidZ SHARE Award 2012 was made.
Speakers Seminar

During the seminar in which the KidZ SHARE Award was presented, there were a number of speakers including the Municpality’s alderman of Sustainability, employment, youth and education, Mr. John Nederstigt, who explained how sustainability in our thinking has a great role to play.  Next Arthur van Dijk , alderman of Economic Affairs focused on the Haarlemmermeer and what is necessary in the region. Coert Zachariasse, one of  Park 20|20 C.V.’s directors went on to explain what it is that drives him to develop such a project as Park 20|20. William McDonough finished the seminar with an inspiring session on the necessary investment in sustainability as an engine for our future so as to insure it for our children. 

Opening
After the seminar flag waving primary school children from two local schools, the Freinetschool and the IJwegschool fronted the parade to take part in the official opening. The first ceremony was the opening of the Biological Pavilion, Parkcafé GROEN.  Owner Martijn van den Elzen unveiled the logo and was ready together with his team to receive everyone in the new restaurant. Marianne van Arkel, owner of Hoeve de Vogel revealed her logo for the greenhouses where shortly organic fruit and vegetables will be grown for use at the Park as well as for amongst others. The Technical Pavilion, housing the 20|20 Experience Center and Delta Development’s new office was the last to be opened by Coert Zachariasse, CEO Delta Development Group. The 20|20 Experience center  has been made possible by the participation of 38 companies whose contribution of resources, knowledge and expertise have created a unique showcase for sustainability.
